Colors of Autumn

One of the things I missed when we lived in Las Vegas, was having four seasons. There is something about autumn that holds a place in my heart. The crisp air, the bountiful harvest available and the pictures fall paints never fails to amaze me. When we decided to set out on this journey, we anticipated to have been in New England by this time as my goal was to see the colors change. Obviously, we have not made it that far; therefore, the Upper Peninsula of Michigan will have to suffice. But what most of you might not now, is that the U.P. has been ranked the #1 location to view the changing fall leaves!

They are in the midst of changing right now and I think we arrived just a few days earlier, but they are beautiful. To watch God at work is humbling. You wake in the morning to find an ever-changing landscape of hues that was not there the day before. Unfortunately, I do not have a drone or able to fly in a helicopter to capture overhead photos, so I have tried to do my best at photographing the brilliant greens, golds, yellows, oranges and reds at a lower level that scatter the forest floor. It brings a smile to my face to witness such simple beauty.
