Freedom Trail

It has been a few days since I posted on the blog as we have been a little busy visiting friends in New Hampshire. We had late nights and busy days, so I was a bit tired at the end of the day and not up for being on the computer. Just being honest. We stayed one week in Fremont, NH with one of our military families. We had hoped to see more of the area, but one week just isn’t enough. So I guess another trip back to New England is in the forecast! We might have stayed longer, but the weather is fast changing and we need to be moving south. Before we set off, we had an opportunity to spend a couple of days in Boston.

We followed the Freedom Trail around the city. We started at the Boston Shipyard and the U.S.S Constitution and made our way toward the Boston Commons. The trail highlights some of the historical sights most relevant to Boston history. Along the way, we sampled delicatessens from Mike’s Pastry and I had some creamy, yummy clam chowder.

We stopped at two of the oldest burial grounds in the city: Copp’s Hill and Granary. Copp’s Hill has plots as old as 1660. And Raul Ravere, Samual Adams and John Hancock are all buried at the Granary Burial Grounds.

Some of the other sights we visited were Faneuil Hall, Quincy Market and the Old State House which is the site of the Boston Massacre.

And we finished our tour of the Boston area by making a quick trip out to Harvard University.

That’s another place I’d like to visit.
To bad you missed your cousin Amber. She possibly could have given you guys a private tour.
