Down Time

As much as one may think, we do not go exploring and having fun everyday. In fact, it is important to take some time to just relax and sometimes do absolutely nothing. The last three days was like that for us. Do not get me wrong, we are not necessarily complete slugs! There are still chores to do, things need fixed, etc.

The dogs are always a priority and need exercise, so we are at least getting a little bit of movement in ourselves. Saturday was an absolutely beautiful day and I would have loved to be out and about, but we needed a break, especially since we have been driving long distances from where we are camped in order to reach the national parks. I took advantage of the warm weather and walked down the road to a melon stand and scooped up three different and uncommon melons: black seedless watermelon, an Israeli melon and a casaba. I took one of our “neighbors” with me as we crossed paths when some friends at the RV park. Small world!

I made a run to the grocery store and after dinner, we went over to the Schroeder’s and played a game that evening. Of course, we had some fresh melon for dessert. Sunday, Al and I enjoyed our ritual breakfast, then I did the laundry. Monday was quite cold out so it became a seriously lazy day as I stayed in my pajamas the entire day until about 5 p.m. I dressed, walked the dogs, returned and put my PJ’s back on. Oh yes I did!

Today was not much more eventful although we drove out to a local landmark called the Crystal Geyser. It did not go off while we were there but we did get to explore the surrounding area and see the lovely formations. It was also a great opportunity to let the dogs run free as we took a walk along the green river bank. We will be moving on tomorrow.
