Detroit Shenanigans

We are still in the Detroit area visiting with family. No decision on when we are moving on. Hopefully tomorrow Al will change the brakes and rotors on the pick-up. He has been able to change the oil, install the new steering strut and we washed the 5th wheel. I am also waiting for my medication to be mailed (filled through Express Scripts). Trying to manage my treatment on the road has actually been much more challenging than anticipated.

I have become frustrated with the process of which I hoped would run more smoothly than it has. Over the course of the last two weeks, I have been on the phone nearly daily (except weekends) with either my doctor’s office, the lab or the pharmacy trying to either coordinate where I can get my blood work completed or if my prescription has been submitted. There has been glitches in the computer systems, faxes not transmitting, or information missing in the request. Enough complaining, because I could probably go on.

Since we have arrived, we have been able to enjoy a couple of excursions. First, we attended the Red Wings home opener against Dallas. The festivities started with a red carpet event and we got an autograph and picture of former Red Wing Defender, Niklas Kronwall. The Wings won the game as well, which was a cherry on top of the day.

Yates Cider Mill
with Niklas Kronwall

Yesterday we headed out to enjoy the beautiful weather we’ve been experiencing. I love going to farmer’s markets, so we opted to visit Yates Cider Mill which was founded in 1863. It was very crowded, but we stuck it out and after about 45 minutes we made our way into the mill for fresh, pressed cider and baked goods. Yum!
